Open to the Public

Many places on campus are available for use by the public. Your involvement is important to us; and so we invite you to take advantage of all that Appalachian has to offer. Additional programs can be found under Museums, Performances & Speakers and Programs & Services.

Parking and Transportation

appalcart Parking for the general public is available in the River's Street deck and any open faculty/staff lot after 5pm and on weekends.   AppalCart bus routes are also free and open to all.  Parking is available at the Boone Mall and Walmart, and you can catch the bus to campus.  Please check their website for schedules and availability.

Meeting Spaces

Plemmons Student Union Appalachian has a variety of buildings and methods that can accommodate outside groups.

Business Usage

Free Speech Zones University properties are for the primary use of the students and departments of Appalachian State University. There are some instances where outside organizations and businesses may conduct business on pre-identified properties.     Belk Library Community members, alumni and visitors are all welcome to use the library for research and study. Materials may be checked out too!

    Campus Dining

    students at NoodleWorks in Welbourne Craving pizza, a sandwich or a burrito? A wide variety of dining options are open to the public and priced to please.

    University Bookstore

    University Bookstore Sales are open to students, staff and faculty as well as their families. Alumni and campus visitors who are on the campus for other reason than visiting the Bookstore are welcome too.

    The Appalachian Newspaper Stay in tune with what is going on campus by reading the student-run campus paper or listening to our student-run radio station.
