Volunteers & Interns
Appalachian students engage in well over 100,000 hours of service each year. Internships, tutoring, large and small group service projects, mentoring and service-learning are just a few ways students become involved in the community. We are always open to putting your creative volunteer talents to use too! Additional volunteer programs can be found under Programs & Services.
Need a volunteer?
Our students love to make a difference in the local community. Appalachian & the Community Together (ACT) maintains an extensive database of service opportunities (from organizing offices to building homes) that connects the needs of the community with student volunteers.

Need an Intern?
Hundreds of ASU students serve at local and regional businesses throughout the academic year and offer valuable assistance. Internships range anywhere from 50 to 500 hours. Please contact Sharon Jensen to learn more.
Want to volunteer?
Appalachian is always in need of people willing to donate time or talents. Some of the more popular opportunities include helping our first-year students move into the residence halls, assisting the Alumni Association with social events, and helping on game days.
