Girls On The Run

Offered by the BCBSNC Institute for Health and Human Services at Appalachian State University, Girls on the Run is an afterschool program for girls in grades three through five. The curriculum is designed to help young girls achieve positive self-awareness, self-confidence, and develop skills to allow them become strong, confident women.

Uplifting workouts are combined with activities to develop the whole girl; physically, mentally, and emotionally. Serving girls in Watauga, Ashe, and Avery Counties, the program consists of 24 lessons, culminating in a 5K race with hundreds of other girls.
